Position Description

QuadMed is currently seeking a full time Certified Occupational Health Nurse (COHN) or Registered Nurse (RN) with at least 2 years of experience in the occupational health, hospital, ER or acute care field to work at the Moog Inc. and the Moog Family Wellness Center located at their East Aurora Wellness Center.

Experience in community health, home health, internal medicine or an RN with past Medic Military experience would be considered.

The COHN will perform the day-to-day clinical and operational activities for the Occupational Health Clinic at Moog managed by QuadMed. The COHN is responsible for collaborating with the Human Resources and Safety Departments at Moog as well as the primary care clinical staff at the Wellness Center on regulatory, health and wellness issues of the employee population. The position has direct reporting relationship to the QuadMed Occupational Health Program Manager with clinical oversight by the Medical Director.

This individual should be confident, independent and passionate as a healthcare professional, as they will be given a high level of opportunity and responsibility

Required Qualifications:

  • Provide prompt, appropriate clinical care to all Moog employees in conformance with company policies, clinical protocols, state regulations and ethical standards. This includes worksite injury/illness triage, treatment coordination with the Moog Health and Wellness Center, and referral to specialists as necessary. Other duties include recording of vital signs, audiograms, vision testing, urine collection, blood collection, spirometry, respirator fit testing, injections and basic first aid.
  • Ensure the provision of prompt, appropriate clinical care to all patients in accordance with QuadMed protocols, state regulations and professional standards.
  • Document all clinical care provided in required electronic medical record.
  • Support provider and clinic operations as needed. This includes clinical assistance, instrument sterilization, examination room preparations, filing, medical record retrieval, stocking, and equipment care and maintenance and telephone coverage.
  • Develop and implement hazard exposure surveillance programs and other administrative policies and procedures to ensure the smooth operation of the Occupational Health Clinic.
  • Provide appropriate follow-up communication with the Health and Wellness Center as well as the Moog Human Resources and Safety Departments.
  • Dispense over the counter medications in accordance with pre-established standing orders to employees with minor work-related concerns (back pain, headache, etc).
  • Provide support and case management for work-related conditions for the purposes of reducing illness and absenteeism.
  • Coordinate second opinions for employees absent due to workers’ compensation or disability, as necessary in adherence with company protocols.
  • Coordinate and support health education seminars in collaboration with the Wellness Coordinator.
